I was going through our family portrait archives and found so many wonderful sessions I have not shared here! Which is a shame because we have photographed some amazing families over the years. This adorable session is definitely one of them! We could not have asked for better weather especially considering it was January and everyone knows that Colorado in January can be wildly unpredictable. They wanted a casual lifestyle approach, which was super easy with this little guy! We wandered around the trails and occasionally stopped for a quick posed portrait and then captured all the fun moments in-between. When Whitney came into the studio to view the photos from their session she loved all of the candid moments and didn't care if hair wasn't perfectly placed, if jackets were on or if clothing was slightly skewed...all that mattered was we captured her family's personalities and this special age of her smiley, happy son. Toddlers have a ton of personality and one thing I love doing is finding a wide open space for them to run and be free! This little one was definitely happy to be in nature and it shows.

The weather is starting to change, the air is getting crisp and we've seen a few yellow leaves popping up on trees...which means fall is almost here! So, we decided to do a special package to celebrate our love of the season! With a 30 or 60 minute session and 7 locations to choose from in Littleton, Highlands Ranch and Denver we have something for everyone!
Doing family portraits in the fall and winter is so beautiful! The light is different, almost more saturated, during this time of year and I just can't get enough of it!
This session was all about family. They wanted updated portraits for their home and wanted something outdoors. I sent them a ton of beautiful locations to choose from and they picked this local park in Highlands Ranch Colorado. This is one of my favorite spots for morning sessions! We met bright and early and got started right away. These two girls have such great energy and they get along so well. I really enjoyed getting to know them! Anytime we did photos of just the daughters they didn't hesitate to snuggle up. I love seeing siblings getting along! Here are some of their favorites from the session. Enjoy! It was a busy year in 2016! Which is great in so many ways, but it also means I have fallen drastically behind in blogging! I will be featuring so many wonderful portrait sessions over the next few weeks so keep on eye on our "What's New" section!
Today I want to feature one of my favorite fall family sessions from last November. This family was the sweetest and their darling daughter was full of so much energy and big smiles! The warm Colorado weather was perfect for their family portraits. We went to one of my favorite locations in Morrison, Colorado and walked the trails, played in the leaves and had a fantastic time...we even paused for a few photos along the way! This year has been amazing! I have had so many wonderful returning clients and have met a lot of great new people that I can't wait to see again. I love seeing families grow each year. We always find fun locations where the kids can run and that's what I love about outdoor portraits in Colorado...plenty of gorgeous scenery with room to play!
Many clients bring their pets and I encourage it! They are just as much apart of the family as anyone. The first photo was my first family portrait session of 2016 and they were a lot of fun! We went to a couple locations in Littleton and at one point they started a snowball fight! It was a great way to start the year. I have known Andrea for a few years now and did Garrett's senior portraits and her professional headshots. When she came to me with her idea for their family portraits I was super excited! She wanted to do a Harley Davidson theme and I was thrilled! This is who they are and I love when people bring that to a shoot.
This session definitely needed something urban. We a wanted that small town feel, so we headed to historic downtown Littleton. This was the perfect backdrop for the families new photos. We had a lot of fun! As 2015 comes to a close I wanted to take a few moments and look back on my year and the many families I have had the pleasure of photographing. Going through all of my files made me so happy because many of these families were also in my year end post last year. Nothing makes me happier than watching returning clients families grow and change.
When Edwina and Dominic wanted to do an engagement and family session combo with an urban setting and colorful graffiti I knew exactly where to take them! We headed to the RiNo art district and they loved all of the beautiful artwork up and down the alleyways and brick buildings.
I loved this outdoor family session! These folks were so much fun to work with and we had a great time! I wanted to share a few of my favorites and the custom slideshow I put together for them.
This family was a blast! We ran around downtown Littleton on a gorgeous Saturday morning and managed to take a few photo's in between all of the fun! The boys hanging out with mom...
I have had the opportunity to photograph tons of fantastic and adorable families in 2014. I am extremely grateful and wanted to take a moment to share some of my favorites from the year. Enjoy! Feb 2014Loved working with this wonderful family back in Feb. They braved the cold to get some great shots!
Had such a wonderful time with this little guy at the beginning of December! Such a beautiful set of Christmas Cards.
