One of my favorite sessions has always been High School Seniors! This year I had seniors from Colorado Springs, Monument, Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Elizabeth, Parker, Arvada, Lakewood, north Denver and more. I loved hearing the many stories and listening to everyone's plans for the future. I would put together an awesome session for them based on everything they tell me and sometimes even assist them with wardrobe choices. It is always a ton of fun!! Here are my favorite senior moments of 2015. Enjoy! Sara's sessions was awesome! She decided she wanted two locations and we chatted about doing one urban and one nature. Since she was one of my senior reps we were doing her shoot in April and kept our fingers crossed for nice weather. We started in Littleton then headed into the foothills. In Littleton it was sunny and gorgeous! When we headed to the foothills a huge storm cloud was rolling in and the wind was picking up. I am so happy that she was more than ok with standing on a hill in the cold wind because it created some very dramatic backdrops and ended up being published in Shutter Magazine! Here are a few of my favorites from her session. Next up is Jackson! Another senior rep for me and a completely different setting. Jackson is in a band and he wanted grungy urban, so when I suggested a bunch of graffiti he was definitely excited for his session. We wandered all over to find the best backdrops to fit him and his style. I heard all about his band and future and we had a great time! My next senior rep was Garrett. He reminded me very much of my son and we got along great! He's on the football team and plans to attend collage after high school. He wanted to do two locations and one of them had to be football related and the other in nature. I loved his bow-tie and the banter back and forth between him and his mom was hilarious! We had such a great time! Sean was a lot of fun too! He wanted something a little more unique so I suggested a bunch of places I have never done sessions before but really wanted to and he was all for it! We also did two locations and decided on a local park then Fiddlers Green Amphitheater for all of the unique sculptures. Sean also enjoys photography so he was asking questions that I was more than happy to answer. We also didn't let a little rain stop us from having an awesome session! Next up is Kiki. She really wanted big pine trees, aspens and a lot of overgrown nature so we went up in the mountains near Conifer for her session. She brought her whole family and we wandered trails she likes to hike and stopped anytime we saw a great place for a photo! Garrett was hilarious! He brought his sister along for the session and we wandered around Littleton chatting and laughing. This is another senior that I have really gotten to know his family and we have done family sessions as well. They are super close and it's pretty amazing! The next senior session is very near and dear to me because it's my own son. Seeing him grow up into this amazing adult and prepping to head to culinary school has been an amazing journey! He is the kid of a photographer so he was less than thrilled to do a full session! I wanted him to have this experience even though I was doing his photos. There was a little bribery with graffiti and dinner but once we started he really started enjoying himself and we had a lot of fun! The quote of the evening while we were at dinner was "Hey mom, what you do is pretty amazing and I am happy I got to experience a full session and really see what it is you do." He really is a great kid. Dani was awesome! She has such a good energy about her and wants to travel the world. Her interests are very similar to mine - music, photography, travel, Harry Potter and reading - so we got along great! There were some amazing black & white photo's I did and I was elated when those were her and her families favorites! Jordan was another amazing girl! We did two locations as well but she wanted something a little different from everyone else. We went into Morrison than a nearby park for her sessions. Her and her mother were up for anything and we ended up hiking, climbing and running around barefoot! She wanted to pin her hair up towards the end but we didn't want to hike all the way back to the cars so I took bobby pins out of my hair for her to use and the pink skirt was from a shoot I did a few days earlier - we used her scarf as a belt! It was SO much fun! There were many stories and many seniors. I would love to share every single moment with everyone but this blog would end up being 10 miles long!! ...... Here is the rest of my 2015 favorite moments! I had a great year of seniors and a ton of fantastic memories getting to know all of these young adults. Here's to an amazing 2016! I LOVE this! You definitely give your seniors an experience and I love that I'm pretty sure I don't see the same location twice (or if I do, you shot it in a different way to make it look different). Pretty sure my favorite part of this post is the quote from your son - cue heart melting.
