Working with Aspen on her high school senior portraits was so much fun! We met in downtown Littleton, which is one of my favorite locations, and did a quick session that lasted only 25 minutes, but we got some seriously amazing photos of her! Aspen's style was perfect for the occasion and I loved that her and her father wanted to include her letterman jacket in a couple of the portraits. Especially since it's a big part of her high school life being the Varsity Tennis Team Captain and on the the JV Softball team. She is such a sweetheart and I really enjoyed showing that off in her pictures.

Malach's senior portrait session was so awesome! We had great weather the entire time and he chose two fantastic locations that fit his personality and style really well! We started in the RiNo Arts District in North Denver to get that urban feel and some cool graffiti. We wandered around and found some great old brick buildings and some new graffiti I hadn't seen yet. RiNo's street art is constantly changing which means no two sessions will be the exact same. If you are in Denver and are looking for something to do I highly recommend hitting up that part of town. Next, we headed down to Littleton for the nature location. Everything was green with amazing views of the mountains and we had a killer sunset!
I really enjoyed getting to know him during our session. He's pretty laid-back and so easy to talk to and work with. To learn more about Malach and see some of our fave photos from his senior session keep on reading!
Francesca's session was a lot of fun...even though it didn't exactly go as planned! She did our 2 location session and wanted a beautiful garden as one and something urban for the second. So, naturally I suggested Hudson Gardens and downtown Littleton. When we arrived at Hudson Gardens there was a concert and a wedding happening so we didn't have access to almost anything. I explained to security that I called in advance and was cleared to do our session. They were having none of it and wouldn't allow us to do the shoot....so it was time to pivot! We headed to a nearby park that usually has flowers blooming and we ended up loving it more than the original location! It was nice and quiet and definitely less crowded! We had a great time taking photos at the park and the flowers were gorgeous and in full bloom.
Next we headed to Historic Downtown Littleton only to find a huge bike race going on! Now typically they don't block off the entire downtown area for these events, but this time they did....and so we had to pivot again. We went to the other side of Littleton and ended up finding a whole new section that was perfect for Francesca. After all of the pivots and change of locations, her session was still absolutely awesome! We all ended up just laughing about it in the end!

I just love when I get to photograph an entire families big moments through the years! Jillian is the youngest of 3 siblings and the final senior session I will do for this awesome family. For Jillian's senior pictures we went to some of my favorite locations in Historic Downtown Littleton, Colorado to give her that urban feel she wanted. It's a great area with plenty of options - old brick, garage doors, stairs and more. Then we headed to the stables where she rides horses on a regular basis, Coventry Farms. Anytime I get to work with horses, it's a great day!
I absolutely loved her natural make-up look and I am obsessed with her hair style! The wardrobe choices she brought were perfect for each location and fit her personality well. I always look through each seniors wardrobe and choose the best looks for their body type, skin and eye color and the location.
As always with this family....we laughed so much and had such a great time!
I always enjoy getting to know my clients and chatting with them during our sessions. Jillian and I have a ton in common including our favorite movies and music. Read a bit more about her and see some of our favorite photos from her session....
I first met Athena a few years ago at the very first wedding I ever photographed. I knew her dad from my day job at the time and he referred me to the happy couple. So when he reached out for his daughters senior portraits I was thrilled! I knew she'd be amazing to work with and I wasn't wrong! The whole family tagged along and we had a great time.
When we found each other in our meeting spot in Morrison we went through her wardrobe to decide which outfits would work with each location. I LOVED her style - Warm, somewhat trendy, unique, dressed-up casual. We started in Morrison before heading over to the nearby nature location. I like doing a 2 location session because it gives clients a great variety to choose from.
We started at the license plate wall (probably one of my most requested locations) and then wandered around Morrison to get a variety of small town urban backdrops. There was a concert at Red Rocks that evening and we had to get creative so we didn't have hundreds of people in the background!
It was bright, sunny and hot in Morrison...but when we headed to the nearby nature location the weather shifted a bit because a storm was rolling in. That didn't stop us! The dark clouds and wind created some stunning portraits of Athena that are still some of my favorites to this day!

Elizabeth was such a delight to work with on her senior pictures! We went to two locations because she wanted urban and nature options and I knew the perfect combo in Littleton. We started at Hudson Gardens for her nature location and wandered the beautiful park chatting and laughing along the way. Then headed to Historic Downtown Littleton for the urban location. I love the diversity of both locations! Elizabeth's wardrobe choices were perfect and definitely fit her dressy casual style.
One of the things I love about photographing seniors every year is hearing about their lives and plans for the future. Some seniors want to head to college, start their own business or travel for a year. The possibilities are endless!

Chloe's high school senior portrait session was nothing short of perfect! She chose a fantastic location, the weather was beautiful and we basically had the place to ourselves. Her wardrobe choices were awesome and she brought her favorite comic books (Wonder Woman, being one of my faves as well). I really enjoyed getting to know her and hear all about her future plans. She wants to be a journalist or an actor! How cool is that?! Check out the rest of the blog to hear a bit more about Chloe...
I love working with local small businesses on their marketing and professional branding photos! Each business is a little different and I enjoy collaborating with them to create amazing photos for their website, marketing and social media that represent them and their businesses.
Teaming up with 212 Degrees Fitness in Littleton, Colorado was no different. Getting to know the team of trainers and their clients was a lot of fun!

As a small business owner, I know just how competitive things have become!
The old idea 'if you build it, they will come' is no longer enough. I've been chatting with some of my colleagues and contacts, fellow small business owners, and hear these same things over and over.
Real Estate agents are finding that competition for listings is fierce, even in hot markets full of potential sales.
Creatives are finding that their 'dream job' is so much more than designing websites while wearing PJ's at home.
Independent boutiques are finding that it's not enough to simply open a storefront, they also must find a way to connect with their community in an authentic and unique way.
I get it. As a wedding & portrait photographer, I've been through all of this myself. Hey, us small business owners have to stick together!
Today, we're talking about setting your work apart, and the importance of presenting yourself both personably and professionally as the face of your business.
I have had so many wonderful senior photo sessions this year! Ana's was definitely one of them! I enjoyed getting to know her and loved that she was referred by her friend Landrey (check out his senior session here).
When I sent over a few location choices I was thrilled when she chose Hudson Gardens. It's a great location with a variety of backdrops including colorful flowers and green grass. I knew it would work perfectly! We couldn't have asked for a better afternoon...it was perfect weather, gorgeous sunlight and we practically had the place to ourselves!

There is nothing better than having repeat clients! When Kaylie's mother reached out to me for her senior portraits I was thrilled to be able to work with them again! I photographed her older brother Christian two years ago in downtown Littleton and it was so much fun getting to know the family.
Kaylie wanted a nature location for her senior pictures and I knew this spot would be perfect! She brought a couple different wardrobe options and after going through everything I knew these two outfits would be the best. The floral dress was perfect for this mountain location and the blue blouse went so well with Kaylie's piercing blue eyes. We had great weather, an awesome location and beautiful light....doesn't get any better than that!

This years senior season was kicked off with Landrey at this colorful urban graffiti location in Denver. I can't think of a better way to start the summer! He brought some fantastic wardrobe choices that went well with the backgrounds. We wandered all over the RiNo Arts District finding amazing street art and chatting about what he loves and his future plans. He is an incredibly talented DJ and hosts parties in his home, complete with professional lighting and his entire set-up! His mother showed me some videos of of everything and it looks so awesome!!
The street art is always changing in Denver so we got to discover the new works of art together, including some fun Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Aztec art, Crazy Colorful Eyes and walls of beautiful vibrant color. I highly recommend taking a stroll through the area!

I have known Kate for awhile now and when she said she wanted to do one of these portrait sessions with me I was beyond thrilled! I loved collaborating and seeing this whole other side to her.
We go to trivia together every week, go shopping and hiking together and she has assisted me on several photo sessions and weddings. She has become one of my best friends and to be able to do a This Is Me session with her meant the world to me!
The day of the session we started at the studio with hair and make-up. We decided to do the entire This Is Me session in studio to keep with the glam look Kate was wanting. She brought several outfits, including two new dresses that fit her look perfectly! After she was pampered with hair and make-up we started in her favorite new, black and gold dress and went from there. It was a lot of goofing off, laughing and tons of fun!
When she came in to view her photos she was thrilled with how they came out and we had a hard time narrowing them down to fit into an album! Check out her favorites and learn a little more about who she is and why she did these glamorous portraits....
I have known Katie for years. Typically we work together on her branding and headshot photos for her social media posts, blogging and website. We always have SO MUCH FUN!!! We laugh and catch up and it usually ends with us grabbing lunch in downtown Littleton. I really enjoy our sessions....so when I approached her about this new line of portraits I wanted to launch she immediately jumped on board and we started brainstorming ideas right away! She wanted something bad ass, empowering and fierce. Which is so far from our normal sessions, but I knew we could do it.
The day of the session we started at my studio with hair and make-up. We decided to do the entire session inside the studio based on her inspiration board and the ideas I presented to her. She brought two outfits that totally fit the theme and we spent the afternoon shooting, laughing and attempting to keep straight faces
Here's a little more about Katie....
Who is the everyday you? Happily engaged to the man of my dreams. Proud animal Mom of 2 dogs, Vinny and Theo and Greg, the cat. Professionally, sales and communication strategist for entrepreneurs. Side hustle, DJ!
What inspired the theme/style of your This Is Me session? BADASSERY! Rock and roll, channeling my favorite musician, Prince. Sexy and fierce!
Why was this important to you? Why did you do a "This Is Me Project"portrait session?
I am always "on" as bubbly and outgoing, constantly laughing and smiling. I wanted to show the sexy, sassy vibe that is also within me. I wanted to see what fuels me from the inside, reflected on the outside!
What was your favorite part of the whole process?
Um... favorite PART? The WHOLE THING. From the make-up and hair, choosing my outfits and having the session that was truly just for me!
Las Vegas is one of my favorite places to visit so when I heard that Sal Cincotta was hosting a 3 day photography workshop there called Project Lunacy, it was a no-brainer. Workshop tickets, flights booked and hotel secured within an hour! One thing I strongly believe in is continued education. No matter what industry, career path or life you lead...NEVER STOP LEARNING!! For me, photography is something I cannot get enough of and is a true passion. I can't envision my life without a camera in hand. I attend one to two, out-of-state, full photography conferences or workshops per year and consider it a vacation. Throughout the year I take local classes in Denver and online courses to keep my skills and education sharp as well.
Project Lunacy was the best investment in myself I have ever made! I cannot say enough positive things about the people I had the pleasure of meeting, the people I was able to reconnect with and the things I learned. The epic photos were just an added bonus!
This first set of photos are from Jeff and Christine Tonkin's of DigiSmiles class on styled senior photography and were taken on the rooftop of The LINQ Hotel. We started during the middle of the day when the desert sun was right above and bright as ever. We got to work with a variety of models and lighting equipment to learn how to overpower the mid-day sun. As the sun set we practiced some really cool techniques to create some fun night photos.
