I'm not the kind of gal that gets super excited about what I call the "fluffy" details of a wedding. You know, the perfect color scheme or the adorable favors or even the trendy donut bar. These are all well and good, but I'm after the real stuff—the look on the groom's face when he sees his bride for the first time. The emotional father daughter dance. The toast that everyone cries at. Those are the moments that make me love photographing weddings. And this wedding was full of the real stuff. Matt and Karlye are my kind of people. They are high school sweethearts who love being outside and listening to live music. Their whole energy was full of life. And their wedding was exactly representative of who they are as a couple too: laid back and so, so in love. They got married at the Meadow Creek Lodge in Pine, Colorado, the perfect mountain setting for a couple that obviously feels most comfortable outdoors. Matt wore a perma-grin as Karlye came down the aisle, as did her father. Karlye's brother officiate the wedding which added such a special touch. They made their way through teary vows, and when it started to rain, they barely noticed. Matt walked his barefoot bride down the aisle after what can only be described as a celebratory kiss. Their reception was one of the most emotional I've been to. They had extremely heartfelt speeches and there wasn't a dry eye in the house, including me! The people around them were so unbelievably supportive and genuinely happy to see them married. See what I mean? The real stuff! Matt and Karlye, thank you so much for trusting me to capture this incredibly special day. When you guys turned toward your friends and family to be announced as a couple, I thought to myself, "This might be the happiest couple I've ever photographed." Your faces made it look like you just made the best decision of your entire lives. And I think you probably did. Congratulations to these two wonderful people! I hope they have an amazing future together!

1) I love this wedding. 2) Thanks to you and the bride for giving me the idea to be barefoot down the aisle (if I ever get married). 3) Laid back is the name of the game! Perf! 4) I definitely know what you mean about the "real deal". You can just tell in the photos these two are super in love, and that's the greatest thing to witness. That is what truly makes our job great. I'm so glad you got to experience that affirmation with this couple!

There are so many beautiful moments captured here I can't choose which one was my favourite. The emotion on the bride's face got me choked up as well. Also loved the bridal party walking barefoot in pairs. great work.

They are beautiful! And I agree, it's not the little details that matter in the wedding; it's the act of what is actually happening and the people involved!
